Welcome to Harewood Hill Climb History Web site
In 2012 the Yorkshire Centre of the British Automobile Racing Club celebrated three anniversaries.
-20th Anniversary of the Extension to the Hill Climb
-50th Anniversary of the Building and Opening of the Hill Climb at Stockton Farm.
-90th Anniversary of the Yorkshire Centre
The Yorkshire Centres web site www.harewoodhill.com is the Centres main web site and is where all current and future activities will be shown.
This web site www.harewoodhillhistory.co.uk which will be built up over the coming months will concentrate on the forty nine years of history of the Hill Climb with the aim for it to be a complete history of the Hill Climb from the decisions to build the Course and the events from that day onwards. There is a link to the main site www.harewoodhill.com to enable you to switch from the past to the present and future.
We shall list the main areas of activities and append the data as soon as we can obtain it and load it onto the website. The modus operandi will be the same for each area, that is:
Era: groups of ten years – 2000 to 2009, 1990 to 1999 etc.
Years: Each era will have the years listed – 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 etc.
Items Each year will have the events listed.
Only Era’s, Years and items that have information for them will be listed. As new items are listed the Era/year/item will be shown. Working your way down is a single click each time.
You will see from the pages listed that we hope to have all the data that has been published over the years together with a listing of significant events, anecdotes, tributes etc. Our long term aim is to create a “one stop shop” for each event where you would be able to see everything we have, reports, results, photographs etc listed on the event.
To help us to develop the site we would ask you to do two things:
- To register as a Friend of Harewood Hill History so that we may email you when we have loaded significant amounts of new data.
- To utilise the “Sign Up” button below to indicate what information you have available (preferably in digital format) so that we can build up a list of sources of information. We shall be able to scan documents, photographs etc but would ask you not to send any until we are able to handle them sensibly. We will not keep any documentation butreturn to you.
Please do not hesitate to contact me (preferably via email) at email@example.com
